New Galactic Supercluster Map Shows Milky Way's 'Heavenly' Home
This will blow your mind!
Doesn't this new imagery make our unfathomably big galaxy cluster look like a feather? Wow!
Once again, I feel so incredibly small and yet so awestruck at being a part of something so immeasurably big. The human mind just can't begin to comprehend the size of the observable universe in anything resembling its true magnitude. We have analogies and numbers but that's as far as our brains can go.
And yet, we have observed it all. We have measured the distance between galaxies and watched them move across space and time and found ourselves to be nothing more than mites on a mote of dust wondering about it all. And that's a massive achievement in itself.
And then I feel big. I feel special. I feel awe and wonder at being a part of the universe and the universe is a part of me.
And with that, I feel the need to make the most of the blink of a life that I have and make our precious little speck of dust on a speck of dust on a mode in the cosmic wind, a little better.
